Detroit Diaspora Day Festival 2025

A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Community

For the past seven years, the Detroit Diaspora Day Festival has been a space where music and culture connect us across time and place. On Sunday, May 25, 2025, we gather once again at The Norwood in Detroit for 12 hours of rhythm, movement, and shared experience from 12 PM to 12 AM.

This isn’t just an event—it’s a gathering of kindred spirits, where house, soul, jazz, and global beats tell stories that words cannot. Whether you are from Detroit, connected to it, or simply drawn to its creative pulse, this festival is a space to reconnect, reflect, and dance.

Selectors guiding the journey include:

DJ Kemet (Atlanta) – Soulful and rooted, blending house, hip-hop, and Afro rhythms. DJ Duane Powell (Chicago) – A storyteller of sound, weaving deep house, jazz, and rare grooves. Diviniti (Detroit) – A voice that lifts, bringing depth and soul to the music. Dej.y (Detroit) – A new wave of energy, bridging past, present, and future sounds.
